WDS prepares enhanced machinery line-up for ProSweets 2024

In the wake of its major presence at Interpack, a broad array of machinery from Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen (WDS) will be on display at this year’s ProSweets event in Cologne, Germany, as the event opens its doors this weekend, reports Neill Barston.

As a prominent company within the equipment market for moulded confectionery products with a wide variety of applications and capabilities, ira sweetOTC operations have also established itself as a specialist in technologies for the production of active OTC confectionery, supplements and nutraceuticals.

The company will be returning to ProSweets between 28-31 January at Hall 10.1, stand 50 with its depositing technologies as well as further developments in hygiene for sensitive application areas. As part of the SweetConnect partner network, WDS will also be demonstrating how the confectionery industry is being networked and digitalised across manufacturers.

Moreover, as the business confirmed to Confectionery Production, its focus will include depositor systems for all depositable and demouldable masses will be presented, reflecting the diversity of its plants. From the laboratory scale to the large-scale plant, WDS offers confectionery machines for all capacity and manufacturing requirements. Especially for the OTC sector, WDS presents depositor systems made of hygienic full stainless steel.

Thanks to the EasyClean design of WDS plants and the use of adapted service trolleys, it is easy to change parts that come into contact with the mass as well as to completely replace a depositor system, e.g. for external cleaning or for a large variety of products using exchange systems.

The product- and system-specific program parts demonstrate the extraordinary quality standards of Winkler and Dünnebier confectionery machines. High vertical integration and top-quality material processing are reflected in the dosing and process precision of WDS plants. Last but not least, extensive know-how and many years of experience with various masses and technologies enable WDS to process special masses with sensitive additives in the field of OTC confectionery, supplements and nutraceuticals in a way that is both gentle on the product and reproducible.

OTC market focus
With its sweetOTC label, WDS is an established supplier in the OTC sector and will be informing customers at ProSweets about complete customised solutions in a GMP-qualified design. This covers the entire value chain, from brainstorming and the development of individual confectionery products to specially adapted production processes.

As a specialised WDS division, sweetOTC focuses on developing new depositing and moulding processes in confectionery production and has been significantly expanded to promote innovation and efficiency. WDS already significantly expanded its in-house technical centre some time ago to meet increasing demands.

WDS plants feature consistent hygienic design optimisations that prevent contamination and cross-contamination. Supplemented by risk assessments (FMEA) and a comprehensive qualification concept, the plants are the ideal choice for anyone who would like to exploit the opportunity potential and growth in the area of innovative and alternative dosage forms in confectionery production.
