Klaus Bjerrum appointed executive vice president of Chr.Hansen’s natural colours

Natural ingredients and bioscience business Chr. Hansen has appointed Klaus Bjerrum as executive vice president of its global natural colours division.

He is currently employed as senior vice president, operations, at CP Kelco and will take up his new role this August.

Klaus Bjerrum has been in his present post 18 years, where he has been in global and regional roles within several functions (Operations, R&D, Business Management and Sales). Since 2015 he has been part of the executive leadership team.

As previously reported by Confectionery Production, the company’s colours division has recently expanded with the acquisition of the Banker Wire facility in Wisconsin, following increased consumer demand within the region for products within that category. The site in Mukwonago is set to become the new North American headquarters for that segment of the business, with production, as well as research and development facilities.

CEO Cees de Jong welcomed the division’s new appointment. He said: “I am delighted to announce Klaus as new EVP of our natural colours division. Klaus has a strong business-focus and is a committed people leader with international experience. The natural colours division is strongly positioned in the attractive market for natural solutions to the food industry and the goal for Klaus is to ensure that Chr. Hansen continues to capture the attractive growth potential from conversion and coloring foodstuff in this market.”
