Whitakers Chocolates unveils its first vegan confectionery tin

UK confectionery firm Whitakers Chocolates has unveiled what is believed to be the first of its kind in the British market in releasing its ‘Vegan Tin-Tations’ selection tin series, reports Neill Barston.

The Yorkshire-based company, which has continued to expand its product portfolio despite challenges faced amid the pandemic in the past 18 months, identified a clear gap in the market with its latest offering.

As the business revealed, its new tins have specifically targeted the high-growth vegan market, with its selection containing vegan milk and dark chocolates and toffee in a variety of flavours.

Whitakers Chocolates, who have been master chocolatiers in Skipton for over 130 years, identified a gap in the market for a Christmas selection tin and have spent the last year perfecting their recipe, flavour combinations and the design of the tin.

William Whitaker, managing director of Whitakers Chocolates, welcomed the extension to the company’s range. He said:  “It was a bold move to be the first chocolatier to create and invest in making such a product, however, we felt with our diverse product range and customer base, we just had to do it. It has been such an exciting and fun product to develop and we now hope we get the support of the vegan community behind it”.

In addition and in-line with Whitakers Chocolates ongoing sustainability goals, the 525g tin and contents are either fully reusable, recyclable and home compostable. Which is great news for any environmentally concerned consumers.

The range has now gone into production and will be commercially available in the middle of October, with pre-orders being taken from the company’s website at www.whitakerschocolates.com
