Planet A Foods expands its offering with peanut butter cups

German FoodTech start-up business Planet A Foods is continuing its rise to prominence in the ‘alt choc’ category in adding to its product range in the form of its  Jeckel Peanut Butter Cups coated with ChoViva, writes Neill Barston.

The innovative Munch-based company, formerly known as QOA, (see our previous exclusive video with the company’s co founder Dr. Maximillian Marquart here), has steadily gained recognition for its efforts, which have recently included gaining an enterprise award at the major ISM event in Cologne.

As the business explained to Confectionery Production, its latest product is produced by WAWI-Schokolade AG and is available for the first time across Kaufland stores within Germany. Kaufland is the next retailer after Rewe, Edeka, Penny and Aldi to include ChoViva products in its range.

“Together with our partner WAWI-Schokolade AG, we are delighted to offer consumers another delicious and high-quality product,” says Dr. Maximilian Marquart, Co-Founder of Planet A Foods. “The first-time listing of a ChoViva product at Kaufland as part of expanding within the grocery industry is a very important step for us and reflects the strong demand for
ChoViva.”

WAWI-Schokolade AG is also optimistic about the partnership. “As with the private label products, the collaboration with Planet A Foods is running absolutely smoothly. The inclusion
of ChoViva in our Peanut Butter Cups works perfectly and underlines our innovation strategy,” emphasizes Richard Müller, CEO of WAWI-Schokolade AG.

The Munich-based B2B FoodTech start-up remains true to its values of quality, innovation and sustainability and continues to strive to offer innovative solutions. The partnership with
renowned brands such as Lindt & Sprüngli and Griesson – de Beukelaer and major retail partners such as the REWE Group enables the company to scale at high speed. As the company revealed, its next step planned is the expansion within Europe, particularly into the UK.
