Nestlé Quality Street favourites are given a novel confectionery twist

Having been voted in a recent national poll as the nation’s most searched for online confectionery treat, Quality Street is being taken to the next level with new designs for two of its favourites, the Purple One and the Orange Crunch sweets, writes Neill Barston.

The two classic Nestlé treats have have undergone a makeover for 2024 and have taken on a new shape, matching the Caramel Swirl, with the Orange Crunch also moving from foil-based packaging to a paper wrapper.

Notably, both changes were given a sneak preview trial in the run-up to Christmas in bag and tub ranges in a bid to gain consumer opinion on the move, with the brand keen to keep evolving and offering fans something a little out of the ordinary.

Jemma Handley, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street, believed offering additional range choices was of key importance. She said: “After a successful trial at Christmas, we’ll be permanently rolling out new shapes for two of our much-loved sweets. We know how iconic Quality Street sweets are and we have taken great care and attention to make sure that it is the same great tasting The Purple One and Orange Crunch that people know and love in their iconic coloured wrappers.”

“At Quality Street, we also know that fans feel very passionately about their own particular favourites, and we make sure there is something for everyone within the mix,” Jemma added.

As the business noted, the brand continues to offer a wide range of flavours, colours, and shapes, split into three categories: Fruits; Toffees, Fudge and Caramels; and Nuts and Chocolates, and has been attracting some notable attention with its Golden Collection ‘Incredible Egg.’  This brings together delicious fudge and caramel pieces in a milk chocolate caramel-flavoured shell, accompanied by a pack of Quality Street caramel, fudge and toffees.
