Exclusive: World Confectionery Conference set for Brussels return in 2024

Major plans for the next edition of the World Confectionery Conference are taking shape, with the event set for a return to Brussels next year.

The must-see one-day industry gathering is to be staged on Thursday, 12 September, offering a key opportunity for the entire sector to exchange ideas and learn about the latest developments for our ever-evolving sector.

From equipment and systems companies, through to finished product manufacturers and ingredients enterprises, we were treated to some highly informative and diverse contributions at this year’s event.

Thanks indeed to those who completed feedback forms from our most recent show in Harrogate, which offered some favourable comments and useful suggestions, with a clear preference being expressed for a return to Belgium for our event, which we successfully held in Brussels last year, which remains a core centre for confectionery, as well as policy making in its supply chains.

The Belgian capital is particularly in the spotlight at present, with EU regulations currently progressing on due diligence and deforestation legislation being put forward to deliver greater transparency within imports into Europe.

As for our own 2023 event, there were plenty of excellent discussions and presentations to reflect back on, with an exclusive video review and gallery viewable at our dedicated website, www.confectioneryconference.com
The Confectionery Production team has been hard at work developing the programme for our event next year, with a major focus on the event for our next edition. With many key issues facing the sector, there will be several core topics for the show, which will be revealed shortly. In the meantime, we invite readers to get in touch with editorial ideas, as we welcome your feedback to ensure we produce events that are as engaging as possible.

Editor Neill Barston said: “Thanks to everyone who helped make our event for 2023 a really interesting and engaging conference, which delivered a range of high quality presentations and debates. Our plans for 2024 are progressing strongly, and based on the feedback, a return to Brussels was a favoured option after our success there last year. The industry finds itself amid challenging times within supply chains, but there’s still a strong sense of innovation within global confectionery and snacks markets, which we aim to celebrate with our next conference.”
