Vegan chocolate brand Nomo gains three Christmas honours

British-founded vegan chocolate company Nomo has been in fine festive spirit in celebrating being named the best seasonal large independent brand at the debut Free From Christmas Awards, writes Neill Barston.

The Norfolk-based venture is part of the Kinnerton group, which has ben recognised as being among the first to develop a fully dedicated nut free manufacturing site in 1999.

Nomo itself is vegan, as well as free from dairy, gluten, egg and nuts, using a plant based substitute for milk powder. It also uses Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa.

Speaking on its latest industry award win, the company posted on Facebook: “We’re excited to finally share that we have won not one, but three awards at this year’s Free From Christmas Awards!⁣ ⁣ Our Reindeer is a gold award winner, and our standard Advent Calendar is a silver award winner. We’re so proud of our Christmas range.”

Describing the range, Jacqueline Tyrell, brand manager at NOMO, said: “Our aim is to inject the fun back into Christmas by providing a range of delicious mainstream products that all consumers will love, no matter if they are vegan or have a food allergy or intolerance.

“We are so delighted to launch our cookie dough reindeer and brand-new Premium Caramel Advent, as well as bringing back our popular 24 Window Advent and caramel drops that we know our NOMO fans loved so much last Christmas!”
