Tromp Group reveals departure of president Richard van Heukelum

The Netherlands-based bakery business, The Tromp Group, has confirmed the departure of Richard van Heukelum as its president.

In a statement, the company thanked him for his contribution, but no further details were released regarding his leaving the business.

Van Heukelum had been promoted to the role of president in January 2018, having served with the company since 2015, where he had originally been appointed been vice president of sales.

“Over the past few years, Richard has been an integral part of Tromp Group’s success. We greatly appreciate Richard’s contributions during his time with Tromp Group.

We wish him continued success in his future endeavours,” explained Markel Food Group chief executive officer Ken Newsome, who will take on the role as interim president of Tromp Group following Mr. Van Heukelum’s departure.

The group’s global activities include fully-integrated food production solutions for the worldwide baking industry, with a notable range of new equipment continuing to be showcased at international trade fairs, including at iba next month in Munich, Germany.

Its sheeting and depositing systems division, together with Den Boer Baking Systems, have delivered industry equipment for breads, cakes, muffins, pizzas, pastry and laminated doughs, pies and waffles. Tromp Group is a proud member of the Markel Food Group.
