Metal detectors range expands

Mettler-Toledo Safeline Metal Detection has expanded its range of product inspection technologies with the addition of the L Series Pipeline metal detectors.

The metal detectors are used to remove metal contaminants from food products in liquid, paste and slurry formats such as sauces and liquid chocolate. The machines feature detection heads, filtering techniques, and high frequency technology and are designed to help food manufacturers reduce operational costs while complying with food safety standards. The metal detectors use detection coil technology and digital signal processing to deliver sensitive detection for all types of metals.

Mettler-Toledo’s Zero Metal Free Zone (ZMFZ) technology enables metal fittings on the throughput pipe and other process equipment to be positioned as close as possible to the detection head without affecting the detection process. This helps to reduce the length of product flow pipelines and protects product quality by shortening the distance travelled during the inspection process.

“The L Series Pipeline detectors enable food producers to detect hard to find contaminants before their liquid, slurry or paste products are packaged, preventing whole batches of products to be rejected and money to be lost unnecessarily.” said Jonathan Richards, head of marketing of Mettler-Toledo Safeline Metal Detection. “This reduction in costs, combined with enhanced security for end-consumers, can provide manufacturers with a strong competitive advantage, enhance brand protection and also protect their bottom-line”.
