Continued success for Welsh brand

A family run chocolate company based in Haverfordwest has welcomed an unprecedented number of customers through its doors this summer. The record number of visitors saw Wickedly Welsh continue its successful first year of trading, following recognition as a visitor attraction by the Visit Wales tourist board, strategic partnerships and numerous awards.

Founders of the company, Mark and Karen Owen, first opened the doors to their family start up on 12 April 2014. 2015 has seen the chocolate manufacturer build upon its successful first year, launching a range of revolutionary diabetic chocolate. It also launched the Pembrokeshire Pass chocolate bar, offering buyers over £35 worth of discounts to the top tourist attractions in the area.

Mark Owen, self-confessed chocoholic and chief taster at Wickedly Welsh Chocolate, comments: “This has been an unbelievable summer for all of us at the Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Company. 2014 was such a successful year for us and we really didn’t think anything could top it. To welcome over 40,000 customers through the doors was the icing on the cake for us.”

He continues: “As well as this, we’ve seen an incredible reaction to our Pembrokeshire Pass bar, with the collaboration an undoubted success for the local economy. The feedback we received was that people in the local area want the pass bar again next year. I really want to thank everyone who has supported us over the summer and hope to see them all again soon!”
