Tic Gums to enhance traceability with guar gum

Tic Gums is to launch a new guar gum that has been developed to enhance traceability from sourcing to processing this month.

As the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) defines and enforces the regulations around preventative control standards, compliance requirements and imported products, manufacturers are held to a higher level of accountability within their facilities and supply chain.

The GuarNT USA product line, the company says, allows manufacturers access to a secure and reliable guar supply, which has been subjected to a kill-step validation at an US-based, SQF Level 3 facility.

Tic Gums will use the 2016 SupplySide West Global Expo and Conference in Las Vegas from 6-7 October to introduce the product, as well as its gelatin-free gummy vitamins.

For formulators looking to replace gelatin in nutritional delivery systems such as gummy vitamins, the company says its Ticagel Natural GC-581 B offers a non-GMO alternative in gelatin-free applications. Sensory characteristics such as cohesiveness and hardness can be adjusted to allow manufacturers the ability to customise a gelatin-free gummy product that delivers the desired combination of textural components.
