Euromonitor International joins the World Confectionery Conference

The Euromonitor International organisation has confirmed its team member Natalia Theofilopoulou, Food and Nutrition Research Analyst has joined the ranks of keynote speakers at 2021’s World Confectionery Conference, reports Neill Barston.

Within the group, she undertakes projects within packaged and fresh food industries, with a focus on the UK market and contributes to the content creation on company profiles.

Natalia holds an MSc in International Marketing and Brand Management and a MPhil in Economics. Her conference presentation, ‘Anytime, Anywhere: The Evolution of Snackification in 2020 and Beyond,’ will examine how the coronavirus pandemic has deeply disrupted snack occasions.

In the short term, drastic reductions in mobility changed snacking from an “anytime, anywhere” to “always at home” occasion. Immediate consumption, impulse and experiential elements were substantially reduced, while portability became the defining feature of category and channel performance. This presentation explores how the pandemic’s evolution will shape the future of snacking with key opportunities and threats.

The Euromonitor presentation for our virtual conference on Tuesday, 1 June, adds to a dynamic programme of speakers from across the confectionery and bakery value chain, addressing the major issue of delivering sustainability and wider market developments across our segments.

Among those offering their expert insights will be Aldo Cristiano, president of the CAOBISCO European chocolate, biscuits and confectionery industries association, Cargill, Luker Chocolate, Cama, Syntegon, Baker Perkins, Paradise Fruits, Innova Market Insights, Fairtrade and Confectionery Production editorial board member Andy Baxendale, to name a few.

As part of our event, there will also be an exhibition element offering a key platform for industry suppliers to confectionery and bakery segments, which will offer valuable opportunities to interact and network with others from across these diverse industries.

With the past twelve months having significantly influenced the development of our sectors, our virtual conference will deliver a strong platform for discussion and debate on defining issues and challenges that our combined markets are facing during 2021.  For more information on the event and how to register, visit the conference website.
