Two major developments from Sacmi packaging and chocolate will be on show at this year’s ProSweets, including a new hollow figure wrapping system, reports Neill Barston.
The Italian-founded business will be showcasing its full range of equipment for the confectionery sector at the event, which runs between 2-5 February, at the Koelnmesse site in Cologne.
As the company explained its latest solution, the Hybrid Sweet Magic for Hollow Figures, will be showcased alongside an enhanced HTB wrapping system that has been improved to increase its production performance, boosting its flexibility.
According to the firm, its latest innovations have been designed to focus on meeting the expanded needs of its global base of customers within the confectionery sector. With consumer demands rapidly shifting, machinery has accordingly been forged to deliver greater versatility and product quality.

The Hybrid Sweet Magic has targeted seasonal wrapping of hollow chocolate figures that are particularly popular at Christmas. As the business noted, what makes it innovative is the introduction of a servo motor system capable of controlling the string applicator in hybrid mode: this lets manufacturers transform each wrapped product into a unique decoration, perfect to hang on the Christmas tree. With an output rate of 140 pieces per minute, this wrapping machine combines performance, outstanding aesthetics and creativity to produce unique products.
Meanwhile, as the company added, the HTB machine pushes the boundaries of chocolate tablet packaging technology even further. After redefining the market standards for speed and wrapping quality, HTB now has some major new features such as the ability to use outer pre-cut paper for the external wrapping as an alternative to pre-cut cardboard. Additionally, it can now process bars with whole inclusions, such as protruding hazelnuts.
The company has continued to place a strong emphasis on its chocolate preparation and moulding technologies, as well as in the packaging sector, where where materials are selected for their sustainability, reliability and efficiency.
Moreover, as the company added, it has remained particularly focused on delivering customer service around the world, with its teams on hand at this year’s ProSweets to expand upon the capabilities of its enhanced range of machinery. Sacmi is at ProSweets Hall 10.1, stand F50-G59.
