Major move for Mars with new global chief digital and information officer

Mars, Incorporated has moved to place enhanced focus on its online operations, naming Kemal Cetin as Global Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) for its snacking business, reports Neill Barston.
The company, along with key players in the US and global confectionery market has moved to make significant use of technology including AI for analysis and formulation of its product ranges.
For his part, Cetin, who takes up the role in August, is set to report to Andrew Clarke, Global President of Mars Snacking. He will sit on the Mars Snacking Leadership Team and the Mars Digital Technologies Leadership Team.
As the company outlined, its latest appointee will lead the company’s digital, data and technology agenda to accelerate business growth. He will drive the next phase of its online development.
Notably, Cetain has gained nearly three decades of industry experience, having most recently served with FrieslandCampina, where he was Global Business and Digital Solutions Officer and member of the Executive Team.
Prior to FrieslandCampina, he was with various global FMCG companies across the U.S., U.K. and Europe including Diageo, Coca Cola Enterprises and Whirlpool.
