The organisers of the Sweets & Snacks Expo in the US have opened a call to industry experts to submit proposals to speak at its 2027 event, and related supplier showcase, writes Neill Barston.

Between the two elements, the event covers the full value chain of the industry, with many core trends impact the region revealed during its three days of international engagement.

Notably, the next edition is set to return to the Indiana Convention Centre in Indianapolis, between 18-30 May next year, with its Supplier Showcase on May 17–18. The event brings together retailers, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, brokers, andother decision-makers from across the confectionery and snack industries.

As the National Confectioners Association noted, Sweets & Snacks Expo education sessions, the show is seeking experts who can help attendees better understandconsumers, navigate a changing marketplace, and identify opportunities for growth. Potential topics include consumer andcategory trends, shopper behavior, the evolving retail landscape, AI, merchandising, e-commerce and social commerce, innovation, and emerging marketplace trends.

For Supplier Showcase education sessions, proposals should focus on the issues and innovations shaping how confectionery and snack products are made, packaged, and delivered. Topics may include ingredients, packaging, manufacturing and operations, supply chain, technology, and other innovations affecting the industry.

Strong proposals should provide actionable takeaways, original thinking, research, or real-world examples rather than a sales pitch. Selected speakers will have the opportunity to share their expertise with industry decision-makers and receive promotion of their sessions to more than 50,000 industry contacts before, during, and after the show.
