Munich is calling for iba international trade fair

With production deadlines once again upon us, this week’s blog is another brief, but hopefully informative entry.

As you’ll have seen from our latest magazine and recent posts, one of the highlights of the event calendar for this year will be the international iba trade fair which begins in Munich this weekend.

With dozens of thousands of visitors expected from across the confectionery and bakery sectors, there will be plenty of innovations, equipment and concepts being put through their paces in the numerous halls of this year’s event.

Many thanks to those who have already been in touch – I shall look forward to meeting as many of you as we possibly can during the show – which is shaping up to be something special.

While it’s fair to say that as a team and a company, we attend a diverse range of trade exhibitions throughout the year, but few have attracted quite as much interest so far as iba appears to have done.

This will in fact be my first visit to the event, so I’m eager to gain a full appreciation of just what it can offer – if last year’s Sudback event at the venue in Munich is anything to go by, then we will be in for more than a few treats.

With the event being held just once every three years, as with other major exhibitions such as Interpack for the packaging sector, there’s a sense of anticipation that builds up surrounding the fair – which its organisers assure me will indeed live up to its billing.

Here’s hoping that our show preview, and interview with project manager Claudia Weidner offer some insights into proceedings for this key event. Well, that should be plenty for now, but please do get in touch this week if you’d like to meet up, so drop me a line at [email protected] or via social media @confectionprod to arrange a convenient time to catch up.
