Nomo celebrates fifth free from anniversary with latest mini bar series

British vegan and free from brand, Nomo is marking its fifth anniversary of trading with a series of new mini bar products, as it reports a sustained period of growth for the business, reports Neill Barston.

As the company noted, having started out through making its original debut in 2019 through Tesco and Tesco and Holland & Barrett in May 2019, it quickly found its mark with what it perceived as a gap in the retail market within the segment.

Its lines were developed by a team at Kinnerton Confectionery, led by innovation expert and marketer Emma Perrett, with the brand created to offer an option that is safe for adults and children with allergies or intolerances and dietary restrictions which tastes even better than mainstream counterparts and consistently offers new formats and products in line with consumer demand.

Moreover, as the company explained, its founding mission has been an approach of never wishing to compromise on the taste profile of its product ranges. This has been reflected in notable growth for the company, running at a rate of 32.4% year-on-year, valued at £12.5 million, outpacing wider category performance.

Its ranges have gained release across multiple retailers in the UK, Germany, as well as expanding internationally with sales in Australia, as it sets out plans for its latest releases.

The company’s latest bar offering takes the form of a Mixed Sharing Box (140g), featuring  12 mini bars in a selection of its most popular flavours, including creamy choc, caramel, mint, and orange crunch. As the business added the new range fills a notable gap in gifting market. The box contains three creamy choc mini bars, three caramel filled mini bars, three mint mini bars and three orange crunch varieties.

Significantly, the brand also highlighted the fact it has invested in advanced manufacturing facilities which allow for strict allergen control. Its series remains plant-based and made with Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa. They are vegan and free from dairy, egg, gluten and nuts to ensure that everyone can enjoy delicious chocolates.

Emma Perrett, Marketing Controller for the business, commented on its rise. She said: “We are thrilled to celebrate Nomo’s fifth birthday and our remarkable growth journey. From day one, our mission has been to create delicious chocolate that everyone can enjoy regardless of allergies, intolerances and lifestyle choices. Our ongoing success reflects our dedication to quality and innovation, providing safe, great-tasting chocolates for everyone which we believe taste even better than mainstream counterparts, the most recent of which is our sharing mixed box – perfect for gifting, sharing, or keeping for yourself!”
