Ishida expands South African equipment presence with Vannpax agreement
Ishida Europe has enhanced its support for South Africa and across the region in naming specialist packaging machinery company Vannpax as a distributor for its multihead weighers, writes Neill Barston.
As the company explained to Confectionery Production, the deal enables food producers – including those within confectionery and snacks segments, to benefit from the speed and accuracy of its systems to maximise production throughput and avoid unnecessary and potentially costly giveaway and manufacturing downtime.
For its part, Vannpax offers design and installation of complete packing lines, together with ongoing service and support, complementing Ishida’s own in-house service. This allows food companies to have a single point of contact to ensure the effective long-term running and maintenance of lines, helping to support businesses’ continued growth and expansion.
In particular, the availability of Ishida’s entry-level multihead weigher range will enable start-up and smaller operations also to have access to advanced weighing technology that can help them meet their objectives and ambitions.

Established in 2013 and based in Paarl in the Western Cape, Vannpax provides custom-made support to the Food Packaging Machinery Industry in Southern Africa and abroad. The management team has a combined industry knowledge and experience of more than 23 years in the maintenance of packaging machines in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Much of its own-designed equipment is manufactured locally, further supporting the South African economy.
