Pecan Deluxe unveils investment and expansion plans

Food ingredients manufacturer Pecan Deluxe Candy has announced investment and expansion plans for 2017, including an international rebranding and a collaboration with its Asia Pacific region.

Under the leadership of Graham Kingston, now managing director of both Europe and APAC (Asia Pacific) regions, Pecan Deluxe says it is investing in its infrastructure, facilities and staff in order to consolidate the company’s reputation as a global food tailor, creating custom engineered solutions according to localised tastes and legislation.

Supporting this strategy is a global rebranding project, including a new logo and dynamic new websites for each region, accessed by a central web address that redirects site visitors as appropriate.

A key target of the West-East reshaping is the creation of a new operational structure in Asia, based around the existing Thailand facility, which will support the implementation of European quality standards and enable a more fluid exchange of products between Thailand and the UK. This, the company says, will not only allow it to enhance its food tailoring service, but also deliver more challenging product development projects across these regions thanks to the availability of a wider range of core products.

In Europe, Pecan Deluxe is supporting its vision with extensive investment in manufacturing operations and the establishment of a 400 pallet cold storage space, all of which will help to create a raft of new jobs in the company’s bakery operations and confectionery plant. The group expects to spend more than £3 million across its European operations during the next 18 months.

Kingston says, “Our vision for 2017 is to create the infrastructure to support a truly international synergy between our European and APAC regions to the ultimate benefit of all our current and future customers. For example, European fudge and chocolate filled products will be more easily available to the APAC regions, whilst our Thai operation will be able to more readily share its hard candy, praline brittles and sauce ranges with Europe.

“There is massive growth potential in bakery and confectionery markets across the Middle and Far East regions; Pecan Deluxe has a reputation as an innovator and developer of tailored food solutions across Europe and we intend to ensure that reputation is not only locally delivered but also maximised across all of our target markets within the APAC region.”
