Pasteurisation process

During the Dutch trade mission in the US, Mirjam van Dijk, CEO of Royal Duyvis Wiener BV, will sign the first order for Log5, with the American company CHS Sunflower, in the presence of the minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, Edith Schippers.
Research has shown that two per cent of dry food ingredients contain the dangerous bacteria salmonella. After several outbreaks of salmonella contamination, companies in the US have started (chemical) pasteurisation. However, all methods used so far, show undesired side effects to the product.
The equipment, developed by Log5, employs a natural pasteurisation process and no chemical ingredients are added. The salmonella bacteria is destroyed by a unique natural method using hot air, but the product does not lose its flavour and there is almost no change to colour or structure.
The Log5 pasteurisation process has been thoroughly tested and has been approved and patented worldwide.
CEO, Mirjam van Dijk says: “After three years of research and development and the efforts of our international sales manager Tom Velthuis and our American partner Koco, this trade mission with its headlights on nutrition, innovation and health, is the ideal opportunity to reward our work with this first Log5 order.
Our American partner, CHS Sunflower, is very honoured that this special moment takes place during the visit of this trade mission.
Moreover, the invitation to our partner to join the business dinner in Chicago in the presence of His Majesty King Willem Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Maxima is of priceless value for our relationship.”
During the convivial ceremony, the order was signed by the President CEO of CHS Sunflower Incorporated, Robert Deraas and the CEO of Royal Duyvis Wiener BV, Mirjam van Dijk, in presence of the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sports, Edith Schippers and the Director General of Economic Affairs, Simon Smits.
“As a farmer owned organisation, a foremost concern is delivering high-quality food direct from the farm to the consumer,” says Robert Deraas, president at CHS, Inc. “After careful consideration and extensive testing, it is clear to us that Log5 is the best pasteurisation technology available. We are excited about Log5 and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership.”
