Gearing up for Interpack

We’ve just sent the March issue of Confectionery Production to print. In it, you’ll find an overview of what’s happening at international packaging trade show Interpack, as well as the latest trends in confectionery processing and packaging.

The Confectionery Production team will be at the show from 5-8 May so if you’d like to organise a meeting at your stand then please get in touch.

And with US President Donald Trump pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), we assess the impact it will have on the world’s confectionery and sweet bakery industry.

We also have reviews on ProSweets and ISM. Despite ProSweets taking place during the same year as Interpack, exhibitors were generally upbeat about the trade show. Coating machines, 3D gum printers, naturally flavoured glazes and thin packaging were showcased at ProSweets, while over in ISM, key products included chocolate candy that only melts above 90°C and sugar free mints that repair the damage done by tooth decay.

This afternoon, I’m off to Amsterdam for the fifth edition of the Chocoa trade fair, forum and conference. The chocolate makers’ forum will focus on chocolate machinery, logistics, as well as financing businesses. The conference, meanwhile, will explore new trends and developments for ensuring a sustainable cocoa supply chain.
