LoeschPack set for key ProSweets equipment showcase

Germany-based packaging systems business, LoeschPack, is to showcase a notable upgrade to the FHW-S, a flexible high-speed solution for wrapping bars and tablets into flow packs, reports Neill Barston.

The business returns to the event having enjoyed a notably busy 2023, including showcasing its systems at Interpack, where it unveiled its latest bar line and combined line, (pictured main image).

For the 2024 ProSweets event, which will be held between 28-31 January, it will be appearing with its sister company Hastamat, the Franconian machinery manufacturer will be presenting systems for the efficient and sustainable packaging of various products – in Hall 10.1, Booth G030 H031.

At the stand, LoeschPack will show the trade audience of the international supplier fair for the confectionery and snack industry its innovative and modular bar packaging line – from buffering and product feeding to the final flow-packed product. “We continuously develop our packaging machines and our broad portfolio. This allows our customers to package their products even faster, more sustainably, and more efficiently,” says Olaf Piepenbrock, Managing Partner of LoeschPack, Hastamat and the parent company Piepenbrock.

“We achieve this with a packaging process that is perfectly tailored to our customers’ requirements. True to our company motto –  Packaging your ideas High performance, flexibility, sustainability, and quality: these features are combined in the FHW-S horizontal flow wrapping machine from the F series by LoeschPack. It is the centerpiece of the bar packaging line for production systems with a high degree of automation. Constantly evolving, the machine manufacturer will present its high-performance model at ProSweets, which stands out for its even faster and more flexible operation.

The machine packs up to 2,100 bar or tablet-shaped products at up to 205 film meters per minute. “In addition to uncompromising performance, the FHW-S is also impressive for its flexibility in terms of packaging material, format range, and packaging style options,” says Dr. Ferdinand Schwarzfischer, head of the LoeschPack development team at Altendorf.

“The platform is designed for both classic and alternative packaging materials and can process plastic and paper-based wrapping materials as well as laminates. Switching between materials is effortlessly achieved at the touch of a button, and the splicing process, even at full speed, ensures smooth and highly efficient production. Unwinding the film to the core reduces operating costs and waste. And all this with a high level of packaging quality,” adds Schwarzfischer. In combination with the upstream LOOP buffer system and the LOMATIC feeding and distribution system, the result is a unique packaging system that meets the highest demands.

Multilevel, gondola, belt, or overhead buffer: LOOP buffer systems are specially designed to meet the requirements of large-scale production lines for bars, tablets, and other confectionery products. With integrated buffer systems, LoeschPack is succeeding in increasing production efficiency and regulating production flow. The system is directly linked to the LOMATIC feeding and distribution system for all speed ranges.

In addition to chocolate, the machine also processes biscuits, wafers, and granola bars. Row by row, the LOMATIC feeds the downstream packaging machines at a speed of up to 190 rows per minute. From Neapolitans to 300-gram bars. The design is geared toward efficiency, precision, a long service life, easy cleaning, and quick and easy format changeovers.

Furthermore, in the area of cartoning, LoeschPack will present its completely redesigned, space-saving CMT system at ProSweets. It can process up to 1,000 products per minute – with a maximum output of up to 200 cartons.
