Ethical confectionery brand Choc Affair unveils latest range
UK ethical chocolate making brand, Choc Affair, has unveiled a Chocolate Tasting Experience and Spiced Drinking Chocolate Kit, as it aims to spread a little bit of confectionery happiness during the ongoing pandemic.
Little did the family-run independent business based in York know that the experiences would become an instant hit with corporate firms purchasing its latest lines to prepare to host virtual Christmas parties for their staff teams.
Known for their unusual and quirky flavoured bars, including lemon & sea salt, rhubarb and chilli, which were a great conversation during lockdown, this inspired Linda Barrie, Founder of Choc Affair to create the experiences to further help people to reconnect with one another.
Speaking on the launch, Linda said: “Chocolate has and always will be a great way to start a conversation. The Chocolate Tasting Experience which teaches people how to correctly taste chocolate whilst the Spiced Drinking Chocolate Kit takes you on a journey to discover where and how sustainable hot chocolate is made. Earlier this month, we started getting large bulk orders on the website for our chocolate and hot chocolate experiences and quickly realised that businesses were buying them. I contacted some of them for feedback and quickly realised that they were being purchased to prepare to host virtual Christmas parties on Zoom.”
The Chocolate Tasting Experience comes with 6 single origin dark chocolate bars, which are each registered with The Vegan Society as well as a tasting information booklet, tasting board, tasting journals and an aroma wheel. The Spiced Drinking Chocolate Kit comes with 5 hot chocolates as well as spices, flakes and a recipe booklet to make a hot drink to your liking.
Linda added: “None of us ever imagined that our chocolate experiences would end up being part of corporate celebrations and virtual meet ups. We are really pleased that the experiences are being used to celebrate the magic of Christmas.”
