Macpac to showcase eco-friendly Breakdown PET at Packaging Innovations
UK packaging specialist Macpac will be showcasing a series of distinctive, eco-friendly packaging materials including its Breakdown PET range at this year’s Packaging Innovations show at the NEC, Birmingham.
The event, being staged between February 26-27, aims to highlight some of the sector’s most significant developments, systems and technology that is being applied within the industry.
As Confectionery Production previously reported, Macpac’s latest Breakdown PET is fully recyclable and fast-acting bio-degradable R-PET offering the same characteristics as conventional R-PET but with the key benefit of accelerated decomposition within a few years rather than centuries should it ever end up in landfill.
The packaging manufacturer is focusing on all companies looking for creativity as well as complete control of their packaging requirements from start to finish. It has worked with a number of enterprises operating within the confectionery and bakery market.

The use of efficient modern thermoforming machinery allows Macpac increased flexibility over its competitors. All packaging is blended with up to 86% recycled content and is 100% recyclable.
