Confectionery ingredients business Pecan Deluxe celebrates awards

Confectionery ingredients specialist Pecan Deluxe Candy (Europe) is in seasonal celebratory mood after claiming several awards recognising its export success, manufacturing excellence and customer services.

The inclusions business claimed a customer commitment prize in the British Chambers of Commerce Regional Business Awards, qualifying the firm for the national finals. This award was designed to recognise businesses who have demonstrated they can carry out robust customer service strategies, prove how customer care is tied into staff development and how this has driven business growth. In addition, the company also received further honours claiming an ingredients manufacturing company of the year award for export in the Food Manufacture Excellence awards.

These two awards come hot on the heels of a further two accolades earlier this year, Export Team of the Year and Scale Up Exporter of the Year titles in the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards, which brought together businesses from across the North to recognise and celebrate their entrepreneurial exporting achievements.

The company said its success has been down to a number of factors, including having grown its export business this year to over 60 per cent of revenue, in particular meeting demand from household name retailers and manufacturers for innovative new products and popular off-the-shelf and bespoke lines. As the business explained, it also believed that showcasing its R&D capabilities and successful partnerships with household name food and beverage brands at international exhibitions and through an increased social media presence has also helped to underpin its international profile.

The company is constantly growing its customer base into new territories and is already seeing massive growth in Europe and the lucrative Middle East. It expects to double its sales in five years by accessing new and existing international markets and is in a great position to do just that, following a massive £3million investment in the extension and renewal of its EMEA manufacturing facility.

Managing director EMEA and APAC, Graham Kingston, explained: “The awards may carry Pecan Deluxe’s name but nobody is more aware than me that we have our incredibly hard-working team to thank for these successes. I’m delighted that our investment in growth, in talent and in R&D is paying off so visibly across our key markets. It’s especially gratifying that these latest awards not only recognise our export growth – which has been phenomenal – but also the massive effort that goes into keeping our customers happy at every stage of the supply chain, and how that filters down through all levels of the business to every single colleague, who can now all give themselves a well-deserved pat on the back.”
