Reflecting on eventful ISM and ProSweets trade events

A week on from the close of ISM and ProSweets and the dust is still settling on the results from this year’s shows, which appeared to reveal plenty of comparatively happy exhibitors, as well as visitors.

While numbers were very clearly hit across both events (down significantly to around 30% of pre-pandemic levels), this in fact offered the chance to have a far greater range of slightly more civilised conversations with everyone around the vast Koelnmesse site in Germany.

Inevitably, not everyone was pleased by the slightly surreal state of affairs in terms of the level of attendees, yet the general reaction appeared to be one of having been relieved at finally being able to meet up after two years of an enforced pandemic break.

Personally, I witnessed plenty of creativity and engineering prowess on display across the shows, which was encouraging to see –  especially given the challenging times that we have collectively witnessed. So you can read all about it in our next edition, as well as see our exclusive videos of the events.

For now, it would be great to hear some more of your direct opinions and news for our subsequent follow-ups relating to the show, so please do get in touch with me this week if you’ve any specific items of news, observations or thoughts on what you’d most like from the show next time it’s around in 2023, your contact will be most welcome. You can drop me a line at [email protected]  this week thanks.
