Celebrate World Chocolate Day

If ever there was an excuse to indulge in chocolate, tomorrow (7 July) is the day as chocolate lovers across the globe celebrate World Chocolate Day.

Whether it’s white, milk or dark chocolate, coated on biscuits, cake or on its own, go on, treat yourselves this World Chocolate Day.

While dark chocolate is often seen as a ‘healthier’ option, soon we may not have to worry about the fat content in whatever variety we choose. And the focus on chocolate appears to continue throughout this week. I’ll be attending the Academy of Chocolate Awards Party on Friday in London, recognising some of the world’s finest chocolates. Golden Bean winners – the best bean to bar chocolates within the bean to bar categories – and any special awards will be announced.

With just two over two weeks until we start pressing the July/August issue of Confectionery Production, readers can look forward to features on the impact of Brexit on the global confectionery industry as well as challenges within glazing and polishing. Also included is an interview with Little Moons co-founders Howard and Vivien Wong and a look at trends within confectionery packaging technology.
