Ghana’s Cocobod backs fast-rising Cocoa Media Hub organisation

Ghana’s Cocoa Board, Cocobod, has officially given its backing to the development of the country’s Cocoa Media Hub, recognising its timely and vital activities aimed at developing the sector, which is a vital part of the region’s export economy, writes Sam Poku.
As Confectionery Production has previously covered, the emergence of the organisation comes at a particularly challenging period for the sector, with farmer pay, crop disease and climate issues all proving significant tests for agricultural communities.
In response, Cocoa Media Hbu has been established to shed light on developments with the industry, and Cocobod’s endorsement was formally conveyed at the launch of the Cocoa Media Hub, where the Public Affairs Director of Cocobod, Mr. Sam K. Jerome, delivered remarks on behalf of the Chief Executive. He highlighted the governing national group’s firm commitment to collaborating with the Cocoa Media Hub.
“Ghana Cocoa Board will work hand in hand with the Cocoa Media Hub to help promote farmers’ livelihood, facilitate robust information dissemination, and ensure accurate reportage across the sector,” stated Mr. Jerome. This partnership signifies a strategic alignment towards shared goals.
Furthermore, Cocobod’s backing underscores the critical role the Cocoa Media Hub plays in fostering growth and sustainability within the cocoa ecosystem. The organisation emphasised that advancing farmer welfare, ensuring transparent communication channels, and maintaining high standards of journalistic integrity are paramount.
In a strong call for collective action, Cocobod urged all cocoa sector stakeholders, including governmental bodies, private enterprises, and non-governmental organisations, both locally and internationally, to lend their full support to this impactful initiative.
The Cocoa Media Hub, established three years ago, has been instrumental in driving industry progress through its diverse flagship programmes. These include the ‘My Cocoa Business’ TV program, the Annual All Farmers’ Convention, nationwide cocoa farmers’ rallies, agro-tourism promotion, agribusiness advertising, and specialised Chocobiz training.
This commendation marks a new phase of formal recognition for the Cocoa Media Hub’s efforts, promising amplified impact and broader reach as it continues its mission to serve and advance the cocoa and chocolate industries worldwide.

In addition, chief of Jedua Kesse in Ghana’s western region, Nana Kofi Yeboah II, has issued a compelling call for extensive financial and collaborative support from the government, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and international media houses To Cocoa Media Hub for a long lasting operations in covering the sector.
This appeal was made during the official launch of the Cocoa Media Hub in Accra, an initiative poised to revolutionize the promotion of cocoa and chocolate businesses.
