Ishida Europe at ProSweets: Stand F049

Ishida Europe will demonstrate some of its latest developments in weighing and quality control solutions for the confectionery market. Highlights include a compact linear multihead weigher for the high speed weighing of high value small target weight applications such as coated products and Ishida’s advanced x-ray technology.

The CCW-R-112PL linear multihead weigher can handle small target weights as little as 3g per pack. Its design features feeder troughs arranged in a straight line with short drop distances, particularly appropriate for handling fragile products such as sugar coated confectionery or chocolate coated mini biscuits.

In addition, the linear arrangement of the product transfer allows very precise product flow control. This makes the weigher ideal for applications where weigh counting is required to achieve a specific number of pieces in the pack.

Top speed for the 12-head model is 100wpm per side alternatively discharging into a packaging machine (so effectively 200wpm).

Part of the advanced Ishida R series of multihead weighers, the CCW-R-112PL features advanced technology – including Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), a high speed five stage digital filter, and a new combination calculation algorithm using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Technology – that delivers high speeds, excellent accuracy and efficiency levels close to 100%.

Ishida’s advanced IX-GA x-ray technology enables confectionery manufacturers to carry out stringent quality control checks on finished packs. Models in the IX-GA range can reliably detect even tiny amounts of foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size, such as steel, aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, some bones and shell, while Ishida’s unique Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology enables any operator to ‘train’ the x-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants. It can also spot missing, undersized and mis-shaped items or damaged products and the software allows product masking and weight estimations.
