Ingredients group Plant-Ex moves to appoint global technical director

Leading key strategy for UK ingredients firm Plant-Ex will among Rebecca Stewart’s first core tasks as she takes on the role of global technical director for the group, writes Neill Barston.

Since forming in 2010, located in Avmonmouth, the business has grown from a one-man operation to employing more than 130 people across Britain, Poland and Turkey. 

The business has worked across food market segments, including serving the confectionery and snacking sector, using plant-derived ingredients that meet the growing demand for clean label and functional products. 

For her part, Rebecca has joined Plant‑Ex from Peters Food Service, where she served as Technical Director, leading regulatory strategy, quality assurance and technical innovation across multiple facilities.

With more than twenty years of experience in the food ingredients and foodservice sectors, she brings specialised expertise in scaling technical operations, ensuring compliance and embedding robust quality management systems.

In her new role, Rebecca will be responsible for technical strategy across Plant‑Ex’s global sites, she will lead efforts in regulatory compliance, product safety and quality assurance as well as support the company’s continued growth and investment in new production facilities.

Rebecca’s appointment follows significant investment by Plant‑Ex in expanding production capacity, the acquisition of Polish manufacturer Aromacolors and continued growth into new global markets. Her leadership is expected to further strengthen the company’s reputation as a trusted, quality-driven partner for customers and regulatory authorities alike.
