Mars appoints Myriah Gambrell-Glenn as legal counsel for its snacking business

US-based Mars has unveiled Myriah Gambrell-Glenn as the company’s General Counsel for its Snacking business, who is set to play a notable strategic role from this December, writes Neill Barston.

The Chicago-based senior executive is set take a global legal lead on the business’s core brands, including Snickers and M&M’s, many of which are manufactured and developed within her home city.

She will report to the division’s president, Andrew Clarke and will work closely with Stefanie Straub, Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Mars Incorporated.

As the company revealed, in her new position Gambrell-Glenn will oversee legal strategy, compliance, and risk management across a business with more than 34,000 Associates, a presence in over 150 countries, and more than 1,000 snacks sold every second.

Since joining Mars in 2010, Gambrell-Glenn has held senior legal roles across multiple business segments and geographies. Most recently, she served as General Counsel for Mars Pet Nutrition, where she played a pivotal role in the successful integrations of Champion Petfoods and Pretty Litter, both multibillion-dollar businesses acquired in 2023 and 2021 respectively.

In her new role, Gambrell-Glenn will serve as a member of both the Mars Snacking Leadership Team and the Mars Legal Leadership Team.

As the company added, its latest  appointment underlines its commitment to strong governance and legal leadership, supporting the continued expansion of its global snacking footprint amid an increasingly complex legal landscape facing businesses everywhere.
