This year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo has seen Hershey deliver one of its most expansive category innovations yet, including the delivery of a new milk chocolate with caramel bar, new Kisses series and Reese’s Bark, writes Neill Barston.
Confectionery Production has been on hand in Indianapolis this week to gain the inside track on some of the latest tastes and flavours that have been making an impact, and major brands have played their part.
As Hershey noted, its latest milk chocolate with caramel bar offers a twist on a classic existing line that it has brought out just in time for summer snacking and campfire holiday season.
Moreover, as the business added, the new line has been developed to “level up your s’mores game” featuring a gooey milk chocolate texture and a caramel drip, all in one bite.
“The combination of our signature milk chocolate with golden caramel transforms the classic Hershey’s bar into something extraordinary – it’s tradition reimagined with just the right touch of indulgence,” said Kyle Webster, senior associate brand manager, at The Hershey Company. “We’re delighting s’mores lovers everywhere with a delicious twist to nights by the campfire and the addition of melty caramel to Hershey’s Milk Chocolate.”
Other significant highlights of this week’s event for the company include its Hershey’s Cinnamon Toast Crunch variety, PRB&J Big Cups for its core Reese’s brand, and a revived Reese’s Jumbo Cup. The company has also made a key expansion of its Shaq-a-Licious Gummy series as a special collaboration with basketball star Shaquille O’Neal.
Significantly, the business has also recently extended its Sour Strips series to move further into the sweets sector and expand its overall offering to consumers.
From speaking to the Hershey team at this year’s event, the business revealed that there had been an especially encouraging response to its presence at this year’s event in Indianapolis, which draws to a close today (Thursday 15 May), and will be returning next May in Las Vegas.
