Exclusive: Winter wonderland inspires Prestat’s stylish festive confectionery

Luxury chocolate brand Prestat has continued its trend for distinctive Christmas releases with its latest batch of offerings for the season, including corporate gifting options, reports Neill Barston.

The UK business, a favourite of author Roald Dahl, who was inspired to write Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from his experiences at its London stores that were also a favourite of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has returned with another strong selection for 2024.

Its latest Winter Wonderland Collection takes a leaf out of some of the most iconic scenes of England’s capital, with its designs and illustrations featuring London double-decker buses, streets wrapped in striking festive lights, as well as the famed Norwegian Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square.

As the company explained to Confectionery Production, to add even more charm to celebrations, its collection includes a  range of mini Victorian festive houses, each brimming with our bestselling truffles. These make perfect gifts, festive décor, or stocking fillers, capturing the essence of Victorian Christmas with a modern twist.

The Christmas House features Dark Sea Salt Caramel Truffles (RRP £14) A Great Taste Award winning combination, with its caramel, Sea Salt and fine Dark Chocolate being a proven winner for the brand.

As we previously reported from our site visit to the business, it remains especially proud of its connections to the British monarchy, in holding a Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II, who is said to have looked forward to her annual treat from the company each Easter in the form of a specially commissioned chocolate egg.

Down the decades, the business founded in 1902, has enjoyed a number of famous fans of the brand, which was acquired in 2019 by the Illy group, which went on to also take ownership of Rococo chocolates, which has also delivered its own special festive range this Christmas. Furthermore, its Festive Christmas House Pink Marc de Champagne (RRP £14) represents a fun festive favourite, offering rich dark ganache is encased in a white chocolate shell and dusted with powder sugar. They contain 60g of truffles, while there are other options including Festive Christmas House | White Chocolate Fizzy London Gin (RRP £14) Festive Christmas House  Milk Chocolate Earl Grey (RRP £14).

In addition, its Festive Sharing Box is offered in Small (RRP £24)  and larger formats  (RRP £49), and is pitched as a very merry assortment of its much-loved chocolates and truffles. The striking gift box includes creations inspired by the holiday traditions – from Spiced Caramel to the classic Biscuit Cake.
