Adding to our dynamic speaker programme for this year’s World Confectionery Conference, there will be a notable range of exhibitors for this year’s event to offer a memorable and engaging experience for visitors, writes Neill Barston.
Our final planning is well advanced for this year’s show, which features a broad array of speakers that you can discover more about throughout our special preview edition for our key event in Brussels, Belgium on 12 September. Registration remains open via our dedicated website at the following link.
With our core themes of sustainability and innovation, visitors to this year’s event will have the chance to engage with a number of companies representing the entire value chain.
Among this year’s exhibitors will be Germany’s Loeschpack, which has continued to hold a key reputation within the sector for its fast, advanced confectionery and snacks systems. Furthermore, Belgian-based packaging business Pattyn will also be making an appearance to offer insights on its latest ranges.
There will also be representation from Plamil Foods, which is among vegan pioneers, and has developed a new brand, the Coffee Bar, which has been making waves within the segment and visitors will have chance to try the new range there.
Another of our speakers, Krüger & Salecker, will also be on hand in an exhibiting capacity for the event, as well as a number of ingredients businesses including Gelita, Corbion and Sun Chemical, a specialist in packaging and graphic solutions.
In addition, US-based California Cultured, producing an advanced lab-developed process for the chocolate market, will also be advising this year’s conference on its own cutting-edge capabilities. Technology will also be to the fore with an appearance from Trade In Space, geospatial mapping services, which is a hugely hot topic right now with regards to compliance for upcoming EUDR deforestation regulations.
Lyn Pitt, managing director of DT&G Ltd, who will be returning to the event as a speaker after having been part of our first live event held in Brussels in 2022, believed this year’s conference held strong prospects.
Having worked around the world leading her team specialising in chocolate coating machinery, she explained that there appears to be a comparatively strong level of resilience within global markets for machinery, despite wider background supply chain challenges.
For this edition, Lyn, pictured at this year’s State of the Industry event earlier this year, will be focusing on a topic of designing smart manufacturing factories of the future, which stands as a topic that is of notable importance given the industry’s drive for ever greater levels of productivity and efficiency gains.
She said: “I can’t believe it’s been two years since we were last in Brussels, which was one of the first face-to-face events taking place after the Covid-19 pandemic, so I am really looking forward to going back there, as holding it there in Belgium gives it a really international feel. Our industry is very much a global one, so the conference reflects that.
“So the event held there in Brussels brought together people from different areas of the industry, which was reflective of how the sector is trying to move forward and be sustainable, as well as showcasing different trends within the market.
“This year I thought I would be doing something a little different – since my last presentation, we have developed hugely as a business in supplying complete production units, with our Finn brand coaters working with other companies who are leaders in their field. We are all able to work confidently together as we are sure our equipment is well matched to ensure that the end customer gets exactly what they want.”
