Sensient expands natural flavour series at Gulfood Manufacturing

Global flavour group Sensient is set to unveil its latest range of natural products used across the food sector, including within confectionery, at Gulfood Manufacturing.

The event taking place in Dubai between November 6-8, will feature a host of companies from across equipment, solutions and services segments, with technology developments expected to take centre stage for the trade fair.

As Sensient explained, to local needs the company has devised a designated range of Halal products and an extensive series of natural colours and colouring foods providing extended shelf life, high stability and strong performance.

The business has also recently expanded its label friendly colour shades with Pistachio Green, based on algae chlorella. Due to its good heat stability, this is regarded as suitable for achieving intense bright green shades, with low taste impact, in baked goods like muffins. Other application areas include ice cream, extruded snack products, and breakfast cereals.

Responding to the growing global conversation around Titanium Dioxide replacement, Sensient launched its comprehensive Avalanche White range in 2017.

This range is now extended with the launch of Avalanche Instant for powdered drinks. With strong opacifying and whitening effect the Avalanche range is designed to best match the performance of TiO2 offering excellent stability and performing well across applications from confectionery and instant beverage to sauces and dressings.

Neil Philpott, head of Sensient’s local Dubai operation base, said: ‘Since the United Arab Emirates is expected to further restrict the use of tartrazine the drive for natural solutions continues. To meet this demand our extensive natural colouring solutions include lemon colour shades such as Curcumin and Carthamus. Together with global and local technical expertise and real understanding of colour, Sensient can actively support your colour conversion reformulation needs.”
