Tromp Group names new vice president ahead of iba

The Netherlands-based Tromp Group has appointed Fabiano Malara as its new vice president and general manager across its bakery and food solutions business.

He joins the company having previously occupied senior roles at Danaher and Philips, with his arrival following the departure of former president,  Richard van Heukelum, who had been in post since January of this year.

“We are excited to have Fabiano on board. With his Industrial experience at Danaher and Philips he will lead the Operations and bring Tromp Group to a higher level in Best-In-Class Technology plus World-Class Service. Fabiano is a strong leader and Certified Master in Lean disciplines.” stated Ken Newsome, CEO of the firm’s parent company, The Markel Food Group.

“I am excited about the Tromp Group,” said Malara, a resident of The Netherlands for the past 12 years. “When I see the convergence in technologies with Tromp Group and AMF, the market potential is significant. When I see the financial strength of Markel, I see a unique company in any industry.” Newsome added, “Fabiano is an example of a leader of the future in the industry. He brings passion and a customer focus plus skills and knowledge from being a leader at Danaher and Philips.”

The Tromp Group has established its bakery operations across a number of market segments in the worldwide baking industry. It includes Tromp sheeting & depositing systems, and Den Boer Baking Systems producing sheeted breads, cakes, muffins, pizzas, pastry & laminated doughs, pies and waffles. The company is due to unveil its latest range of equipment at this year’s iba international trade event, which begins in Munich, Germany this weekend.
