A welcome return to this year’s World Confectionery Conference is being made by Canada’s Bartek Ingredients, as our plans continue to progress for this September’s event in London.
The company will be represented by Milad Moshfeghian, vice president of applications and innovation, who is eager to share developments within its core area of malic acid production, which is an integral process for many areas of sweet manufacturing.
For his part, the sector expert has spent over a decade in chemical manufacturing, and has progressed his way through his present company to rise to become part of its senior leadership team.
He will be part of a broad spectrum of presentations at this year’s event, which includes keynotes from Cargill’s product research and development, Caobisco European confectionery trade body, Ferrero, and critical insights from our knowledge partner, Euromonitor International.
This year’s show will place a combination of sustainability, innovation and business resilience under the spotlight for the industry, and its core supply chains including the cocoa industry.
Registration for our conference on 10 September is fully open, so make sure to secure your place at our must-attend event via our dedicated conference website, confectioneryconference.com.
In terms of his experience, Milad began as a research and development specialist in 2012 and progressed through many roles to become Plant Manager in 2015 the Vice President of Operations in 2016.
He then became the Vice President of New Product Development where he explored a variety of derivative products that could be produced from the company’s base products.
Previously, Milad co-founded and became the COO of Circe Bioscience. A novel gas fermentation company that is trying to go from CO2 to food ingredients. He holds an MBA as well as a BSc. in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Toronto, and his family includes his wife and two young daughters.
Confectionery Production editor Neill Barston said: “Last year’s conference saw an excellent presentation from Bartek, which was very well received by the audience, so we’re sure that Milad will bring plenty of enthusiasm and energy to the event.
“We’ve had an encouraging response so far from the sector, so please do continue to register and play your part in our sector showcase, which is now in its fifth live event, and sixth year of being staged, after our initial online show during the pandemic.
“So, this is your prime chance to have some of those engaging direct conversations with ourselves and industry peers that may not be possible in many other settings, so we are aiming to ensure that this year’s show offers another informative, engaging and enjoyable experience for all involved.”
