27 March 2012 – Solanic’s natural potato proteins isolates are legally permitted for sale in the US.
The Self Affirmed Generally Recognised as Safe (SA GRAS) status applies to the use of two potato protein isolates, in finished food and beverage products at usage levels between 0.01 to 10%.
The clean label proteins demonstrate excellent functionality eg solubility, foaming, emulsification and gelling and deliver excellent nutritional value. Both potato protein isolates (either high or low iso-electric point), may be used in a wide range of food applications, such as gluten free bakery products, confectionery and nutritional bars.
