Tate & Lyle sets manufacturers’ product formulation challenge for 2023’s Gulfood Manufacturing

Global ingredients solutions group, Tate & Lyle PLC, is calling on sector businesses to answer its ‘Challenge Accepted’ initiative, inviting companies to submit their most complex product formulation tasks, that its experts will respond to at Gulfood Manufacturing’s Food Tech event, writes Neill Barston.

As Confectionery Production reported last year, the business experienced significant interest in its portfolio of industry ingredients, which includes a number of applications targeting the confectionery and snacks market segments, including advanced stevia-based sugar replacement options. According to the firm, it will use feedback from consumer preferences in relation to health benefits, cost-effectiveness, and positive societal and environmental impact for a number of categories including bakery, dairy and snacks product ranges.

Moreover, as the business explained, attendees will be able to taste the final solutions of some of the most complex challenges at one of three prototype stations at Tate & Lyle’s booth during the show (E6-28, Hall 6, Dubai World Trade Centre, with the event taking place from 7-9 November 2023. It will examine products marked on impact areas of sugar and calorie reduction, mouthfeel and texture for sensory enrichment and fibre fortification in its analysis. Attendees can also look forward to a special trivia game on the exhibition floor, where guests can accept the challenge to test their knowledge of ingredients, solutions, and industry and market trends with the chance to win exciting prizes.

The business will also be focused on unveiling the company’s global rebrand that it unveiled earlier this year, which will form a key part of its presence at this year’s event – which is set to attract a total of more than 2,000 exhibitors across the wider sector. Hussam Yaccoub, Vice President for Sales for Turkey, Middle East, Africa at Tate & Lyle, commented: “This year has been a significant milestone for the transformation of the company and reaffirms our unwavering commitment to work with our customers to create ingredients solutions that support healthier and more sustainable living.”

Yaccoub added: “The Gulfood Manufacturing event is a timely opportunity to showcase and celebrate our role as a leading solutions partner for new and existing customers, which goes beyond offering a diversified portfolio of ingredients. This year’s ‘Challenge Accepted’ initiative demonstrates our deep understanding of consumer trends and the food system, combined with the scientific and technical expertise necessary to harness nature’s ingredients and create solutions for customers and wider society.”
