Mondelēz appoints Jay Cooper as president of its North European business

Mondelēz International has unveiled the appointment of Jay Cooper as President, Northern Europe, taking responsibility for the businesses in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, reports Neill Barston.

The region remains a key territory for the business, manufacturing and selling some of its most prominent confectionery and snacks brands within these countries including Cadbury, Oreo, Maynards Bassetts, Ritz, belVita, Freia and Maribou.

Since joining the company, Jay, a 20-year Mondelēz International veteran, has successfully led biscuit, chocolate, and confectionery businesses both in the US and internationally during his career; most recently holding the position of Senior Vice President of Growth for North America. He brings to the role a consistent track record of commercial performance, building the company’s marketing capabilities, delivering top-tier marketing activity and producing best-in-class digital and social marketing.

Jay replaces Clive Jones who takes on a new role within the business as President Central Europe, EU Central Sales & Global Licensing. Clive will be responsible for Mondelēz International’s businesses in Central Europe, which span more than 20 markets.
