Plamil moves to create first industry professional vegan chocolate website

UK-based Plamil is delivering what is believed to be an industry first in creating a dedicated website for confectionery professionals seeking vegan chocolate for baking, coating and decorating, writes Neill Barston.

The UK-business, which remains a key pioneer within its segment since forming in the 1960s, has continued to expand its portfolio in recent years, including the launch of its So Free bar range.

As the company’s CEO Adrian Ling recently explained to Confectionery Production, the business has experienced ‘exponential online growth’ during the pandemic, which has prompted it to expand its portfolio including its new Plamilla vegan-friendly hazelnut spread.

Its latest website, Veganchocolat.co.uk has a wide range of plant-based chocolates, that are dairy, gluten and palm oil free, sold in everything from 1kg upwards. The range is made from certified cocoa that protects both the farmer and nature.

Plamil is a family business, which developed out of the Plantmilk Society in the 1950s, with its present CEO known as the industry’s ‘Vegan Willy Wonka’. Plamil is the original vegan company with certified production, dedicated factory which is powered by 100% renewable energy. The range includes a new micro drop format for all chocolate varieties, providing extra choice and options for professional use.

Adrian Ling, CEO commented: “We are excited to be launching Veganchocolat.co.uk as an extension of our offering of chocolates for professionals and industry.

“In addition, we are also launching on this new site a range of oat milk chocolates. Now customers can purchase oat milk chocolate direct from us, a UK manufacturer, made using UK grown oats. Like all Plamil products, the Veganchocolat range, are wheat and gluten free with no possible milk contamination.” For details visit www.veganchocolat.co.uk
