Fi Europe Connect reports strong response to revamped virtual event format

Fi Europe Connect has reported a strong response to its debut online event, with more than 8,500 participants and more than 300 exhibitors from across the ingredients sector, including businesses within confectionery and bakery markets.

The virtual showcase, which replaces the physical FI Europe event which has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, included a comprehensive content agenda covering daily topics such as “Regulatory”, Taste & Texture and Sustainability, as it continues its programme of on-demand events until 4 December.

Among the key elements of the event has been its start-up innovation challenge accolade, and general awards which are set to be announced next week as part of the virtual showcase.

According to initial feedback, the event has attracted a high level of participant, with thirty-three per cent of participants have a role in upper management (C-level), while 66 per cent are responsible for purchasing in their company.

As of 25 November, more than 10,000 meeting requests were recorded and, so far, here have been more than 4,500 conversations on the platform, with a total of  8,800 new contacts being made in the first three days alone.

Fi Global team said it had been delighted by the response to the event. Brand Director Julien Bonvallet said, “Our goal was to focus on an exchange of ideas, networking and lead generation with our virtual alternative. This is what makes the live event Fi Europe co-located with Hi Europe, too, a magnet for the entire ingredients industry year after year.”  For more information on the event, visit the website
