Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate appoints Andrea Boggio as general manager

Italian-based Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate equipment business has named Andrea Boggio in a new position of general manager, having previously spent his entire career at global confectionery group Lindt & Sprüngli.

In this new role, he will lead the business which includes – through the three brands, Carle & Montanari, OPM and Fima – machinery for chocolate processing, moulding and wrapping, and for a broad range for Primary and Secondary Packaging. He will report to Giovanni Campolungo, SACMI Packaging & Chocolate CEO.

During the last period of his former post, Boggio served as Vice President of Operations for the company’s Italian subsidiary Caffarel Spa. In that role he was responsible for the Turin based plant, including the whole production supply chain and its related manufacturing P&L.

Previously, he worked in the Lindt’s Italian factory, covering key operational positions including serving as head of moulding and wrapping, production manager, maintenance manager and industrial performance manager; being tasked in his latter role with a main goal of implementing a robust World Class Manufacturing approach, based on the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodology. He then moved to Lindt Corporate, Kilchberg (CH), to encourage world class manufacturing throughout Lindt’s global factories and helping to drive its development.

Boggio, 50, holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico of Milan.
