Key expansion for Ritter Sport’s chocolate, with two major Sainsbury’s listings

A further expansion of Ritter Sport’s UK portfolio has been confirmed, with two of its bars gaining permanent listings in Sainsbury’s stores, writes Neill Barston.
According to the company, from next month, its Coconut and Peppermint 100g will be placed in 515stores, while Butter Biscuit secures a singles listing across 630 stores in August, further cementing its British market share, which it has been steadily building over the past decade.
Moreover, as the company noted, the new listings build on growing momentum for Ritter Sport within Sainsbury’s, where the brand is now the retailer’s number five chocolate brand by value, outperforming its position in the total market. Last year alone, Ritter Sport contributed 33% of Sainsbury’s block chocolate volume growth, underlining its role as a genuine category growth driver.
In addition, Ritter Sport says the new flavour additions are designed to meet growing consumer demand among shoppers looking for more adventurous and premium chocolate choices at accessible price points.
