GSR enhances cocoa press series with energy saving sustainability features

Italian cocoa processing machinery specialist GSR has delivered a key enhancement to its equipment ranges through creating monitoring systems tracking energy use and reducing production waste.

As the company noted, devising such sustainability-focused solutions has been of core importance to the business, which has exported its machinery across the world for more than 25 years.

According to the business, the new system developed by GSR will allow machine operators always have easy-to-read energy performance indicators of its cocoa presses. They are notified when there is a decrease in energy efficiency compared to the optimal settings and therefore he can intervene correctly to restore the right energy consumption. In this way the machine is brought back to optimal performance ensuring a low  total cost per tonne of process.

The development of its latest tools builds on its commitment to develop concept of sustainability within equipment development, with the business continuously updating its equipment solutions.

Among its equipment ranges are it Series 900 cocoa presses available in operating parameters of between 8-14 pots, and the 980 series in either 16-18 pot formats, as well as a smaller compact line (the 870 series designed for smaller operations). The company has also developed pilot plants for testing purposes, as well as providing additional equipment for use within the sector including conveyors, pumps and pre-mixing tank.

Beyond delivering latest technical improvements enhancing sustainability features of its presses, the company has also reported strong progress on expanding its facilities at Calolziocorte, in the province of Lecco near Milan. The business is due to inaugurate a new production unit this September.
