One of Nestlé’s core British chocolate confectionery brands, Yorkie, is being bestowed with a fresh limited edition marking its 50th anniversary, as the fan favourite continues to evolve, writes Neill Barston.
Its latest offering, the Salted Caramel Pretzel Duo pulls together solid chunks of salted caramel flavour milk chocolate with crunchy pieces of pretzel to create a top tier contender for admirers of the brand who love a combination of salty sweet flavours with added crunch.
Speaking about the launch, Rachel Beaufoy, Marketing Manager for Nestlé Confectionery, said: “We know that Yorkie fans love a chocolate bar with substance, and the new Yorkie Salted Caramel Pretzel Duo delivers just that. The combination of smooth caramel flavour milk chocolate and crunchy pretzel pieces brings extra texture to the bar while staying true to the brand’s chunky format. We’re really looking forward to hearing what people make of it!”
First launched in 1976 by Rowntree Mackintosh, Yorkie is celebrating its 50th birthday this year, having remained a firm favourite throughout its history. Today, the brand continues to be proudly made in the UK at Nestlé’s York factory.
Like the rest of the Yorkie range, Yorkie Salted Caramel Pretzel Duo has no artificial colours or flavours, is made with milk from First Milk farmers in southwest Scotland and uses Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa.
