Easter sustainable feasts unveiled with Tony’s Chocolonely’s latest series

Dutch impact brand Tony’s Chocolonely has unveiled its latest confectionery treats that are aiming to make Easter a little sweeter, as it continues on its core sustainable sourcing mission, writes Neill Barston.

The B-corp, Fairtrade company was founded on a principle of seeking to end child labour within supply chains, and while the company has acknowledged and reported the issue – which remains a significant matter across core producing nations of Ghana and Ivory Coast, it has expressed hope that conditions are improving on the ground.

In relation to this, the company has continued its five core sourcing policies, which include a commitment to working with cocoa cooperatives in the region, and paying more for cocoa above the base rates paid by governments in the two countries. It is also dedicated to a child labour remediation programme of monitoring instances of any discovered child labour, which as previously reported, has shown an improving picture, though the issue still remains for the wider sector.

As the company noted, its latest Easter series is made with 100% traceable cocoa beans, which it believe has helped set the standard for sourcing within the region.

The range includes a180g option, available in milk and milk caramel sea salt, each containing  five different little eggs as additional sharing options for the season, available at £12.

Another sharing option has been delivered in the form of its box of 12 small eggs, which are also being made available at superstores in the UK from this month, at £4.25, with the brand also entering into the spirit of the season with releasing its own personalised Tony’s wrappers, that offer an additional touch to those Easter gifts.

Finally, the company noted its latest Easter feast comes in the form of a chocolate pouch choc-full of twenty tasty chocolate eggs. This (225g) serving features features eight different flavours, including milk caramel sea salt, milk hazelnut and milk pretzel toffee.
