Rowntree’s marks 60th anniversary with new Jelly Tots special edition

Nestlé-owned Rowntree’s has unveiled its latest arrival of the new Jelly Tots Tangy, in celebration of the classic brand’s 60th anniversary this year, writes Neill Barston.
According to the company, the new release offers a playful twist on the much-loved established line of confectionery, with the latest variety stepping into the sour space, offering fans a flavourful experience that combines nostalgia with tanginess.
Made with real fruit juice, the sweets are not only bursting with flavour but are also vegan-friendly, aiming to appealing to a broader audience, with the launch occurring at the start of Veganuary, which has become a major international movement.
Packaged in a 140g sharing bag, Jelly Tots Tangy has been designed for a wide range of occasions, from family gathering, or fun sociable events with friends, and forms part of consistent stream of product development for the business.
The company enjoyed a notable pre-Christmas period in which it focused on delivering a blend of its household favourite chocolates, as well as some new range extensions to ensure that its wider portfolio has remained refreshed.
Hayley Nixon, Senior Brand Manager for Rowntree’s, welcomed the special anniversary edition to its range, which she anticipated would have a key impact. Jelly Tots was originally launched in 1965 and celebrates its 60th birthday this year. Since launching, Rowntree’s has released many products including Randoms Fizzy Cactuz in 2024. The new line is rolling out in stores nationwide this January, offering a sour surprise wrapped in a classic favourite.
