With decades of experience in automatic confectionery coating, French-based Dumoulin is regarded as a key reference for technology within the market segment, which will be showcased at ProSweets in Cologne, Germany, writes Neill Barston.
The company will be at the event, held between 28-31 January, showing its coating pans that enable a high quality of finished products with optimal productivity, better energy consumption, and hygiene and operating conditions to the highest standard.
Having gradually evolved towards technological excellence, the firm aimed to extend its range with a simpler machine, with a more affordable level of investment for customers wishing above all to replace their conventional production with high-capacity automatic equipment.
Dumoulin therefore went back to basics to offer the ICONIC, a machine simpler in its general design, nevertheless offering Dumoulin expertise and technology for the process part.
Thanks to the side unloading system, this line is more compact and its installation at the customer’s site is much simpler. The investment is much lower than premium machines, while maintaining high manufacturing quality.
Speaking to Confectionery Production recently at Gulfood Manufacturing, Julien Mouron, area sales manager for the company, explained that its return to the show in Dubai had proved particularly rewarding, reflecting wider global interest in its equipment ranges that has seen notably growth.
He said: “Historically speaking, the coating machines we have relate to sugar dragees, and later came chocolate ones that are developed for products like Maltesers, as well as chewing gum.
“But recently we have seen demand for products including jelly beans, for which there are a lot of alternatives,” explained the regional sales director.
He explained that while costs for its flagship models may well have risen in recent years, as with any major manufacturer, the company is trying to meet demand from all segments in devising a budget-friendly series of equipment.
The company’s teams will be on hand to discuss its full range of confectionery equipment at ProSweets Hall 10.1, stand A8.
