Sweetdreams Confectionery set for Gulfood showcase of Gozo premium chocolate

UK business Sweetdreams Confectionery is set to showcase its latest premium chocolate offering, Gozo, at this year’s Gulfood event in Dubai, starting from Monday, reports Neill Barston.

As managing director Matthew Stephenson explained, the company will using the major global show to place a spotlight on its Choc Nibbles bar, which as previously reported, was developed after recently forging a sourcing link with Luker Chocolate (see our exclusive video interview with the company here), with the Colombian-founded company again involved with the new luxury bar line.

Last summer, Sweetdreams Ltd was able to gain a key financial boost that expanded its ranks and enhanced its operations with a regional funding grant of £92,000 from the North of Tyne Combined Authority. This enabled the Northumberland company to create a total of ten new roles, as well as expand its manufacturing footprint, as featured in Confectionery Production.

Speaking on his visit to Dubai’s World Trade Centre for Gulfood next week, Matthew Stephenson commented: “I’m looking forward to finally being able to showcase our products, face to face, at Gulf Food, Dubai World Trade Centre. Export is a key business driver for us, and I’m excited to showcase our brands. We’ll be presenting our ever popular Choc Nibbles range – the packaging refresh and the new Choc Nibbles bar, 180g of delicious, chunky chocolate, packed full of Choc Nibbles in original, orange and mint flavours. In addition, I will preview our new, sustainable and premium brand – Gozo. We’ve spent many months working on this, with a planned launch this year.”

The company’s latest offering, which will gain a formal launch later this year is a generous-sized 130gm range of chocolate bars using the finest Cacao Fino de Aroma from Luker Chocolate (Paul Morris of Luker Chocolate pictured left below, with Matt Stephenson of Sweetdreams, right, with the Choc Nibbles bar at ISM last year), packed full of indulgent inclusions like whole fruit and nut, real raspberry and salted caramel crisps. The range includes vegan options using Dark or Oatmilk Chocolate.

“I am looking for partners to take these brands into the UAE and beyond, so if you would like to chat, come and say hello,” added Matt Stephenson, noting that Sweetdreams Confectionery will be on stand Stand S1 – C34, Shk Saeed Hall One, Dubai World Trade Centre, between February 20-24.
